Open the sheet
Every project keeps its drawings in Docs. Open a plan PDF and hit Measure — or use the Measure button in the top bar from anywhere in Frametry and pick the sheet.
The drawings already live in the project. Open a sheet, tell Frametry its scale once, and measure straight on it — lengths, areas, counts, wall square footage, roof squares, cubic yards. No second app, nothing to export first.

Trace a dimension you already know, or pick the printed scale — 1/16" = 1'-0" up to 1" = 50', plus metric ratios. Measuring stays locked until the sheet has one, because a wrong scale quietly becomes a wrong bid. Half-size prints get flagged before you trust the title block.
Click along a wall, trace a room, drop a count. Lines already in the PDF pull your cursor onto them, Shift locks to 90° and 45°, and a magnifier shows exactly where the point lands.
Footing, trim, gutter, fence — click the run and the linear feet land on the sheet. A polyline follows a wall that turns corners.
Trace a room, or just click inside it: the auto-area tool finds the walls itself and fills in the square footage. It reads the pixels, so it works on scans — and it's instant, not an AI call.
Click each fixture, post, or outlet. The tally runs as you go and the markers stay on the sheet, so you can see what you already counted.
Run × height gives wall SF. Box the windows and doors and the openings come back out. Tag what covers it — siding, stone, brick, stucco, paint, tile, drywall — then trace one face and say ×4 when the elevation repeats.
Trace the footprint, pick the pitch, and get the sloped area and the number of squares — the number a roofer actually quotes.
Trace the pour, type the depth, get cubic yards. Circles work too, for piers and sono tubes.
A takeoff is only worth what you trust it for. This one argues with you when something looks off.
Precision needs a real screen, so measuring runs on desktops, laptops, and iPads. With Apple Pencil the point lands where the tip lifts, a long press stands in for right-click, and pinch zooms the sheet.
Measurements save to the project and reopen on any device you sign in from. Lose signal and the tool keeps working on the device, then syncs when you are back.
Share plans with a sub and they can measure the same sheets in the sub portal to price their bid. It is the same arithmetic underneath, so their numbers and yours agree.
Measuring sits in the same system as the plans, the budget, and the bids — so the sheet you measure is the sheet the crew builds from.
